Flyers announce schedule for upcoming NHL season

August in Philadelphia may not be synonymous with hockey, but it signals the approach of a new season. With training camp in September and the 2024-25 season kicking off in October, Flyers fans can now plan ahead with single-game tickets. Here is a breakdown of what lies ahead for the Flyers.

In October, the Flyers will begin their season with a week-long road trip before returning for their home opener on Saturday, October 19 against Rick Tocchet’s Vancouver Canucks. This game will also mark Matvei Michkov's scheduled home-ice debut. The team will then host Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, October 22.

The Flyers have back-to-back home games on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27 against the Minnesota Wild and Montreal Canadiens respectively. On Halloween, they will face off against the St. Louis Blues.

November begins with a matinee against the Boston Bruins on Saturday, November 2. After a three-game road trip, Macklin Celebrini and the San Jose Sharks visit Philadelphia on Monday, November 11. A five-game homestand starts on November 16 against Buffalo and includes matchups with Colorado (November 18), Carolina (November 20), Chicago (November 23), and Vegas (November 25). The month concludes with a Black Friday game against the New York Rangers.

December features five home games starting with a visit from defending Stanley Cup Champions Florida Panthers on Thursday, December 5. Other notable games include matchups against Utah Hockey Club (December 8), Detroit Red Wings (December 12), Los Angeles Kings (December 19), and Columbus Blue Jackets (December 21).

January kicks off at Wells Fargo Center with a four-game homestand beginning January 7 against Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Subsequent games include Dallas Stars (January 9), Anaheim Ducks (January 11), and Florida Panthers again on January 13. The month wraps up with divisional games including New Jersey Devils on January 27 and New York Islanders on January 30.

February is split by a three-week break for the Four Nations tournament. Before this break, they host Washington Capitals (February 6) and Pittsburgh Penguins (February 8). Post-break games feature Edmonton Oilers led by Connor McDavid (February 22) followed by another game against Pittsburgh Penguins initiating a home-and-home series ending in Pittsburgh.

March sees an extended homestand starting March 4 featuring Calgary Flames, Winnipeg Jets, Seattle Kraken among others until March15 before embarking on a five-game road trip. They return to play Montreal Canadiens at home on March27 followed by Buffalo Sabres two days later.

April closes out the regular season with potentially significant games: New York Rangers return for their second visit on April12 followed by Columbus Blue Jackets concluding home slate of regular season April15.
