The Department of Human Services (DHS) will host a job fair at the Philadelphia Juvenile Justice Services Center (PJJSC). The department is recruiting for juvenile detention counselors (JDC).
JDCs work within the PJJSC, which is a secure residential detention facility. The Philadelphia Courts order youth to live at the PJJSC as they await their court hearing. This decreases the chance of recidivism. It also helps youth become more productive citizens in their communities and families.
The job fair is on Saturday, July 8. It starts at 9 a.m. It ends at 2 p.m.
Interested applicants should register online here by Wednesday, July 5. They can also register at the door on the day of the event.
Staff from DHS and the Office of Human Resources will be on-site. They will assist candidates with the application process and conduct interviews. This means that the City of Philadelphia can extend conditional employment offers at the job fair.
