Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf recently announced that more than $48 million in grant funding has been approved for nine projects that will boost the state's economy and create jobs.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has approved $48,710,441 in grants and loans for qualified Business In Our Sites (BOS) projects, a recent press release from the governor's office said. The funding will be used to build an inventory of ready sites for businesses with the goal of attracting businesses to boost the state's economy.

“Pennsylvania’s strong competitive advantage is reinforced by the funding approved today,” Wolf said in the release. “Between our prime location, our skilled workforce, and our excellent infrastructure, the commonwealth has a lot to offer current and potential businesses. This BOS funding is a great tool that provides the resources needed to build pad-ready sites to increase Pennsylvania’s ability to attract and retain businesses.”

A total of nine projects in six counties were approved. Two are identified below.

In Berks County, the Berks County Industrial Development Authority was approved for a $2,802,411 grant and a $4,203,617 loan for infrastructure development in Berks Park 183 in Bern Township.

In Chester County, the City of Coatesville was approved for a $3,646,266 grant and a $5,469,401 loan to help development of the National Sports & Events Center in Coatesville.
