Meg St. Clair Achieves Certified Research Administrator Status

Genbusiness006

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia issued the following announcement on Feb. 10.

Margaret St. Clair, Grants Specialist in the University of the Sciences Office of Sponsored Projects and Research, has recently been designated as a Certified Research Administrator by the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC).

St. Clair joins the ranks of research administrators from across the country at institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel, Temple, CHOP, and USciences who have earned the status of Certified Research Administrator (CRA). The five-year CRA certification awarded by the RACC “means that an individual has met RACC eligibility requirements and has demonstrated a level of knowledge necessary for a person to be a professional research or sponsored programs administrator” as described by the RACC. These certification requirements include a combination of education, experience as a research administrator, and an evidence-based examination and credential review process.

St. Clair is from the greater Philadelphia region and earned a B.A. in Russian from Bryn Mawr College. Her career path includes running residential facilities for adults with intellectual disabilities, retail operations, and teaching English as a second language online to people in China. As a resident of West Philadelphia for over 25 years, she has been involved in local non-profits such as the Mariposa Food Co-op and the Life Center Association (LCA), and served on the LCA Board of Directors.

St. Clair was recruited to the Office of Sponsored Projects and Research (OSPR) at USciences in April 2017 and currently supports the work of the two-person OSPR as a Grants Specialist.
