CITY OF PHILADELPHIA: Seeking participants for survey on criminal court and prison fines and fees

Survey

City of Philadelphia issued the following on Oct. 5

The City of Philadelphia is surveying residents to understand the impact of:

  • Criminal court fines and fees.
  • Prison fees.
If you are a Philadelphia resident who has been convicted or incarcerated, or the loved one of someone who has been convicted or incarcerated, we would like to hear from you. All responses will be kept confidential.

This survey is part of the City’s effort to develop solutions to reform fines and fees. It is part of a growing national movement to examine financial penalties that have an unequal impact on:

  • People of color.
  • People living on low incomes.
In May, Cities & Counties for Fine and Fee Justice awarded Philadelphia $50,000 and technical assistance for this effort.

Sign up to take the survey

Email William Hall, director of financial inclusion, at william.hall@phila.gov if you want to take the survey.
