The University of Pennsylvania baseball team split a doubleheader against Yale on Saturday at Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium in Philadelphia. Senior pitcher Noah Millikan delivered a strong performance in Game 1, aiding the Quakers in a walk-off victory, but their winning streak ended with a loss in the second game.

The Quakers (17-13, 11-3 Ivy) maintained their two-game advantage over Yale in the standings, despite the series being tied after Saturday. Yale improved its record to 21-12, 9-5.

Penn's nine-game winning streak, which was the third-longest in the nation, concluded during the second game against Yale. It was the Quakers' longest since a 10-game winning streak in 2023. Jarrett Pokrovsky stood out by hitting a walk-off single in Game 1, marking his second walk-off hit this year.

Millikan pitched effectively, allowing only one run over 7.1 innings, recording six strikeouts, and issuing just one walk. Despite these efforts, he did not secure a decision. Connor Chavez and Davis Baker contributed with multi-hit performances in the first game. Relief pitcher Thomas Shurtleff claimed his second win of the season, despite conceding two runs on two hits over 2.2 innings.

In Game 2, Nick Spaventa excelled with a 3-for-5 performance, supported by Gavin Collins and Nick O'Brien, who each had two hits. Josh Katz suffered the loss, despite achieving a career-high of nine strikeouts.

Yale initially led Game 1, but Penn took the advantage in the third inning, thanks to Baker’s home run. The Quakers extended their lead in the fifth inning, but Yale tied the game in the ninth. In extra innings, Pokrovsky's single secured the Quakers' 4-3 victory.

Penn struggled in Game 2, with Yale taking a 5-0 lead by the fourth inning. Despite efforts from Penn to close the gap, errors and missed opportunities led to a 7-4 loss.

Penn will attempt to win the series in the final game against Yale, scheduled for Sunday at noon. The game will be available on ESPN+.
