Philadelphia Union announces roster changes ahead of 2025 season

Philadelphia Union has announced its roster decisions for the 2025 season. The club has exercised the contract option for Isaiah LeFlore, while Mikael Uhre's option was automatically exercised. They join 22 players whose contracts are already guaranteed for next season.

The team is currently in negotiations with Alejandro Bedoya, who is out of contract, and Jack Elliott and Brandan Craig, whose options were declined. Additionally, a new contract has been secured for defender Olivier Mbaizo.

The players under contract for 2025 include Markus Anderson, Tai Baribo, Andre Blake, Jesus Bueno, Chris Donovan, Daniel Gazdag, Jakob Glesnes, Nathan Harriel, Danley Jean-Jacques, Olwethu Makhanya, Olivier Mbaizo, Jack McGlynn, CJ Olney, Nick Pariano, Nelson Pierre, Jeremy Rafanello, Andrew Rick, Oliver Semmle, Cavan Sullivan, Quinn Sullivan and David Vazquez.

Options were declined for Jamir Berdecio and Matthew Real alongside Craig and Elliott. Sam Adeniran joins Bedoya and Leon Flach as players out of contract.

The current roster lists three goalkeepers: Andre Blake; Andrew Rick; Oliver Semmle; six defenders: Jakob Glesnes; Nathan Harriel; Isaiah LeFlore; Olwethu Makhanya; Oliver Mbaizo; Kai Wagner; ten midfielders: Jesus Bueno; Daniel Gazdag; Danley Jean-Jacques; Jack McGlynn; CJ Olney; Nick Pariano; Jeremy Rafanello; Cavan Sullivan; Quinn Sullivan and David Vazquez. Five forwards complete the lineup: Markus Anderson; Tai Baribo; Chris Donovan; Nelson Pierre and Mikael Uhre.
