Griffin and Johnson join US under-17 team for upcoming training camp

Philadelphia Union Academy players Jordan Griffin and Jamir Johnson have been selected for the U.S. Under-17 Men's Youth National Team. They will attend a training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Joining them is Philadelphia Union Homegrown player Cavan Sullivan. The camp, led by Head Coach Gonzalo Segares, is part of preparations for the 2025 Concacaf U-17 Championship and the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. The U.S. team aims to secure its 19th U-17 World Cup appearance and will compete against the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Cuba in the qualifying tournament from February 7-16 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Griffin and Johnson are set to report to the camp after participating in Philadelphia Union II's match in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup against North Texas SC.

The roster for the November training camp includes goalkeepers Jack Kortkamp (Sporting Kansas), William Mackay (Real Salt Lake), and Owen Pratt (LA Galaxy). Defenders on the roster are Keehan Barret-Underwood (Liverpool/ENG), Christopher Cupps (Chicago Fire FC), Jordan Griffin (Philadelphia Union), Pedro Guimaraes (Orange County SC), Ian James (Sporting Kansas City), Enrique Martinez (LA Galaxy), Victor Vandenbroucke (Gent/BEL), and Gio Villa (Real Salt Lake).

Midfielders named are Maximo Carrizo (New York City FC), Luca Moisa (Real Salt Lake), Cooper Sanchez (Atlanta United FC), Cristiano Santos Oliveira (New England Revolution), Cavan Sullivan (Philadelphia Union), and Jude Terry (Los Angeles FC).

Forwards include Chase Adams (Columbus Crew), Mathis Albert (Borussia Dortmund/GER), Chance Cowell (San Jose Earthquakes), Lionel Gitau (Houston Dynamo FC), Julian Hall (New York Red Bulls), Jamir Johnson (Philadelphia Union), and Austyn Jones (PSV Eindhoven/NED).
