The Philadelphia Eagles have adjusted their practice squad roster ahead of the NFL trade deadline, which is set for Tuesday at 4 PM. On Monday, the team announced the signing of linebacker Dallas Gant to their practice squad. To accommodate this move, offensive lineman Braeden Daniels was released.
Gant joins the Eagles after starting his professional journey as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings following the 2024 NFL Draft. He was initially waived during the final roster cuts in August but re-signed to the Vikings' practice squad before being released on October 29.
During his college career, Gant played two seasons at Toledo University in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio. He achieved first-team All-MAC honors twice and led his team in tackles both years with a total of 232, including 23.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, seven pass breakups, and three forced fumbles over 28 games. Before transferring to Toledo, he spent four seasons at Ohio State University where he recorded 54 tackles and 1.5 sacks across 36 games.
Braeden Daniels had joined the Eagles' practice squad on October 30 after being drafted by the Commanders in the fourth round.
