Serwaa Barwuah, a 15-year-old midfielder for the HSC Banshees, has been named Musselman's Affiliate Player of the Month for October. Playing with shirt number 22, Serwaa is recognized for her leadership and ability to inspire both teammates and coaches. "Serwaa has a strong ability to lead and encourages her teammates and coaches. She is smart, dedicated, and dependable. Serwaa is a great role model for her team," states the nomination.
When asked about her interests outside soccer, Serwaa shared that she admires Real Madrid as her favorite professional club and looks up to Leo Messi as her favorite player globally. Locally, she supports Cavan Sullivan from Union. Her affinity for the number 22 extends beyond her jersey; it is also her favorite number.
A memorable moment in Serwaa's soccer career was scoring the decisive penalty in a cup final match. Outside of sports, she takes pride in serving as High School Class President for two consecutive years. Although undecided on a future career path, she finds business intriguing.
Serwaa also mentioned Mrs. Kim as her favorite teacher due to effective math teaching methods and an ability to relate well with students.
