Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is set to be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame, a significant milestone in his career. McCoy, who hails from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, realized his dream of playing for the Eagles when he was drafted in 2009 as the 53rd overall pick.

Reflecting on his journey with the team, McCoy recalled the excitement of being drafted by a team so close to home. "I was super excited; I wanted to be an Eagle," McCoy shared in an interview with Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro. He remembered the moment vividly, saying, "We were having a draft party with my family and friends... everybody erupted with joy."

McCoy's tenure with the Eagles saw him break several records and earn numerous accolades. In 2011, he set a franchise record with 20 touchdowns in a single season and rushed for over 1,000 yards for two consecutive seasons. His prowess continued as he set an all-time rushing record for the team in 2013 with 1,607 yards.

One memorable highlight was during the Snow Bowl game against the Lions where McCoy rushed for a franchise-record 217 yards despite challenging weather conditions. He also holds the record for most yards from scrimmage in a season with 2,146.

McCoy attributes his success to his versatility and competitive nature. "I competed at a high level. I'm super competitive," he stated. Now working as a media personality and analyst for FS1, McCoy still reflects on his time on the field fondly.

In recognition of his contributions to the team, Eagles Chairman Jeffrey Lurie informed McCoy of his induction into their Hall of Fame this year. The news brought emotions to McCoy: "Just to hear the words... it just means more."

Throughout his career, McCoy has maintained strong ties with Eagles fans whom he described as "the most passionate" and loyal supporters.

The official induction will take place during halftime at Sunday's game against the Jaguars where fans will have another opportunity to cheer for one of their beloved players.

"I'm super excited," said McCoy about his upcoming induction ceremony. – Written by Liam Wichser
