Ahead of their upcoming game in Cincinnati, the Eagles have activated rookie wide receiver Ainias Smith from the Injured Reserve list. This move follows the placement of defensive tackle Byron Young on Injured Reserve due to a hamstring injury sustained on Friday.
Ainias Smith, a fifth-round draft pick from Texas A&M, distinguished himself as the SEC's leading all-purpose player last season with 1,204 yards. Known for his explosive plays, he achieved 22 plays exceeding 20 yards in 2023.
Smith concluded his college career as the only player in SEC history to accumulate at least 2,000 receiving yards, alongside over 250 rushing yards, punt return yards, and kickoff return yards.
Standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 176 pounds, Smith joins A.J. Brown, Jahan Dotson, DeVonta Smith, and Johnny Wilson as the fifth wide receiver on the active roster. Meanwhile, Britain Covey remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Initially placed on Injured Reserve due to an ankle injury at the start of the regular season, Smith began practicing again on October 7 and has been fully participating since then.
The Eagles have opted not to elevate any players from their practice squad for Sunday's matchup.
