The Philadelphia Eagles have been active in bolstering their cornerback position, evidenced by their strategic picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean were selected with the team's first two draft picks, joining a lineup of seasoned players like Darius Slay, Bradberry, and Avonte Maddox. The roster also includes promising second-year corners Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks, Mario Goodrich, and Mekhi Garner.

Isaiah Rodgers is another notable addition to the Eagles' cornerback mix. Rodgers missed the entire 2023 season due to a suspension for violating the NFL's gambling policy while with the Indianapolis Colts. However, he had an impressive spring performance and aims to continue his momentum into the summer.

The competition at training camp is expected to be intense with young veterans Josh Jobe and Zech McPhearson—who returns after missing last season due to injury—and Tyler Hall, a free agent signing. Shon Stephens, who joined after a successful tryout during Rookie Camp from Ferris State, might also secure a spot on the active roster or practice squad.

Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman capitalized on the opportunity to draft Mitchell and DeJean in Rounds 1 and 2 of this year's draft. These rookies are expected to learn from veteran Slay, who has been offering guidance not only to them but also to other young players like Stephens.

Cooper DeJean expressed his eagerness to absorb as much knowledge as possible: "I'm here to learn as much as possible right now, whether that's inside or outside... I'm here to play football and learn football."

Darius Slay concluded last season with 15 passes defended—the highest in his four years with Philadelphia—demonstrating his continued value on the field. Additionally, four cornerbacks made their NFL debuts for the Eagles last year: Garner, Goodrich, Ricks, and Ringo.

The training camp will focus on how these new additions impact the team dynamics at cornerback. Avonte Maddox remains a top nickel cornerback despite recent injuries affecting his playtime. Meanwhile, Hall presents himself as a strong competitor for that role. Isaiah Rodgers' return after missing last season adds another layer of interest in observing how he integrates back into competitive play.
