Kellen Moore, the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator, is working on refining the team's offensive strategies as they progress through their offseason program. During his introductory press conference at the NovaCare Complex, Moore described this process as both invigorating and enjoyable.
"I think everyone's got their different flavor from a systematic approach. Our real focus here, as we've gone through this process, is we've got a lot of good going on," Moore stated. He emphasized the importance of building on existing strengths while developing new concepts.
Moore is known for his success with previous teams like the Cowboys and Chargers and was even considered for the Eagles' head coaching position before Nick Sirianni was hired in 2021. Now, he collaborates with Sirianni and the coaching staff to integrate successful past strategies with fresh ideas.
"Fortunately, like most of us who go into the profession, you have different times in your career where whether it's a new coach coming in or you're going into a new place, people have different exposures," Moore said. He values open discussions within the team to solve issues and learn from each other's experiences.
The Eagles' offense features notable players such as quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver A.J. Brown, tight end Dallas Goedert, and running backs Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Gainwell, and rookie Will Shipley. The offensive line remains a strong component of the team.
Moore expressed enthusiasm about the current roster's potential: "Certainly we're really excited about the guys that we have in place here. A lot of guys who can do a lot of different roles and a lot of variety."
As Moore continues to develop his vision for the offense, he aims to maintain clarity in their identity while ensuring players understand their roles throughout each game. The objective is to foster trust among team members as they build towards a dynamic offense.
Reflecting on their progress so far, Moore remarked: "I think the biggest thing was I felt like, 'Hey, we got some really good stuff going on here, and we can't lose the good.' Nick and I are really excited just to team up on this thing."
