The Philadelphia Eagles have added cornerback Parry Nickerson to their practice squad. This move was confirmed by the team on Tuesday afternoon. Nickerson, who participated in the team's Training Camp this summer after being signed in June, returns following a vacancy on the practice squad.
The opening emerged when wide receiver Parris Campbell was elevated to the active roster last Saturday. Nickerson, originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the New York Jets from Tulane University, has accumulated experience with several teams including the Jaguars, Packers, Vikings, and Dolphins throughout his career.
In his time with Miami under Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio, Nickerson appeared in five games. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 179 pounds, he initially joined the Eagles after impressing during a minicamp tryout in June.
Nickerson hails from Algiers, Louisiana, and played collegiate football at Tulane for five years. He started 46 games there and recorded 188 tackles, 16 interceptions, 31 passes defended, and two touchdowns. His performance earned him second-team All-American honors from Sports Illustrated in his senior year.
With this signing, the Eagles have now completed their practice squad lineup of 17 players.
