Timber Creek High School's football coach, Brian Wright, has experienced a varied career path. His journey began at Gloucester Catholic when a former teammate from Rowan College informed him about a coaching position for the freshman team. This opportunity led to his role as an offensive line coach at Rowan College, where he remained for 12 years.

After leaving Rowan College, Wright accepted the head coaching job at Cherry Hill West High School and successfully elevated the program to become one of South Jersey's top-10 teams. However, with the onset of COVID-19, Wright sought change and joined Timber Creek High School. Under his leadership, the Chargers achieved consecutive winning seasons and reached the semifinals of the NJSIAA Tournament with a 9-1 record.

"We're kind of lucky where we're at," Wright said. "We have some really good football players. We are supported within our building by everyone from our athletic director down to our principal."

In 2023, Wright was named Coach of the Year by the West Jersey Football League. Despite this recognition, his focus extends beyond football: "We try to prepare our kids for the game of life, using football as that vehicle," he explained.

Wright is known for his commitment to his players both on and off the field. He shared how he supports students facing difficulties outside school by providing meals and transportation: "The game of football has brought me into so many situations where I've had the ability to try to help people out."

As Timber Creek prepares for their next game against Willingboro with a current standing of 3-2, Wright reflected on what defines his team: "I would like to think that as good as this program has been over...football does not really define these kids or the coaches...It's the people that we generate...that truly defines us."

Wright values positive recognition but emphasizes its shared nature: "To continue to shine a positive light on Timber Creek means the world to me...The football part is just a vehicle to teach these guys."

He looks forward to reflecting on these achievements after completing this season.
