BALTIMORE – The rain cleared just in time as the Eagles opened their 2024 preseason at M&T Bank Stadium on Friday night. The Eagles secured a victory on the road thanks to a Jake Elliott field goal in the final seconds, set up by a strip sack fumble recovery from Patrick Johnson.

"Vic (Fangio) gave us a good play call. They was able to do a get after the quarterback and stuff, and so, when that play call came I got excited, because I know I was gonna get on that edge, and even maybe end the game, so everything worked out," Johnson said following the win.

In the first quarter, after failing to convert on a 4th-and-8 on their first drive, the Ravens quickly moved downfield with contributions from running back Owen Wright before opening the scoring with a 46-yard field goal from Justin Tucker. (Ravens 3 - Eagles 0)

The Eagles' first points of the preseason came from rookie running back Will Shipley off of a 7-yard pass from Kenny Pickett. Jake Elliott's extra point attempt hit the left upright and missed. (Eagles 6 - Ravens 3)

"It's a dream come true. And for it to happen in the first game is incredible. Something I'll remember for the rest of my life for sure," Shipley said on his first career touchdown.

In the second quarter, Tylan Wallace made a notable 19-yard diving catch putting Baltimore inside the red zone before cornerback Kelee Ringo stopped a potential touchdown pass to Keith Kirkwood. The Ravens ended this drive with a chip shot field goal from 21 yards out. (Ravens 6 - Eagles 6)

The Eagles remained aggressive in this quarter but had to punt after being stopped following another fourth-down conversion attempt. Rookie linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. made his first career tackle during this punt return and later forced Baltimore's offense off-field with a big sack.

"It felt good. That was my first play out there, so coming out there making that play, you know, backed up it felt great...I thank God, I thank my teammates," Trotter Jr. said.

In the third quarter, Tanner McKee led an effective drive downfield including another fourth-down conversion for Philadelphia and strong runs from Tyrion Davis-Price. Lew Nichols concluded this drive with a two-yard touchdown run following an extensive possession lasting over seven minutes. (Eagles 13 - Ravens 6)

Philadelphia’s defense forced Baltimore into three-and-out shortly thereafter behind Nolan Smith’s nine-yard loss-inducing sack.

"It felt good...just miss it man...fortunate enough to play next to Bryce Huff," Smith remarked about his performance.

During an extended fourth-quarter drive led by quarterback Devin Leary resulting in him scoring via QB sneak tied up matters again between both teams (Eagles13-Ravens13). Another lengthy possession saw McKee successfully convert yet another fourth down attempting breaking tie late-game although unsuccessful initially due missing right post once giving opportunity soon recaptured ball thanks Johnson forcing turnover leading ultimately successful walk-off kick Elliott securing victory Philadelphia(16-13).
