The rise in cryptocurrencies, particularly extremely energy-intensive ones such as bitcoin, is creating pressing new challenges for staving off the worst impacts of climate change. Should policymakers regulate cryptocurrencies?

Join the Wharton Risk Center and Penn Program on Regulation for an online discussion on cryptocurrencies and their far-reaching environmental impacts with Lawrence Baxter, the David T. Zhang Professor of the Practice of Law at Duke Law School and Faculty Director of the Global Financial Markets Center. Cary Coglianese, Director of the Penn Program on Regulation, will moderate.

This event is part of Penn Energy Week.
