Germantown Friends School issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.
Rachel Bradburd, Spanish Teacher and 9th Grade Dean, and Lauren O'Garro-Moore, Esq., Director of Upper School Admissions and Diversity Recruitment, took part in the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, a ten-mile race and Philadelphia tradition for more than 40 years.
Rachel ran with her mother and best friend from college who together are approaching their tenth 10-mile run. “I had my first baby, Santiago, 6 months ago so while my time was definitely slower than other years it felt like a much bigger accomplishment just completing the race.”
Lauren, a four-time participant in the Broad Street Run, ran for the first time with her husband Colin who “is part cheetah and finished light years ahead of me!” Their daughter Sloane, a GFS 2nd grader, was cheering with her younger sister from home. “According to my daughters, we got medals which means we won! It was not my best race but I finished so I'm counting it as a win too!”
Kudos to Lauren and Rachel!
