5 percent of applicants to the Curtis Institute of Music were admitted for fall 2018

At the Curtis Institute of Music, 98 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Philadelphia enrolled 171 students in fall 2018, including 130 in undergraduate and 41 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

15 percent of undergraduates are residents of Pennsylvania, and 50 percent are residents of other states. 35 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (28 percent) and Asian (23 percent).

The school admitted 5 percent of the 660 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 87 percent enrolled.
