WellSpan York Hospital recently welcomed representatives from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Temple Health for a tour of its campus on July 30. The visit follows an earlier decision in 2025 by Temple University’s Board of Trustees, who approved an agreement between the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and WellSpan Health to establish a new regional campus for the medical school in York County.

This move marks the second regional campus for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. The institution already enrolls students at another regional site with St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem.

The Franklin County Free Press covered details of the visit, while Becker’s Clinical Leadership reported on the formal agreement between Temple’s medical school and WellSpan Health.

Representatives from both organizations toured facilities at WellSpan York Hospital as part of preparations for launching the new educational site.

“IMPORTANT: Beginning at 8:00 AM on September 3, Temple University Hospital – Main Campus (Broad and Ontario Streets) will no longer provide Labor and Delivery services. All childbirth services will be relocated to our new hospital location.”
