Esha Velaga from the University of Pennsylvania was defeated in the first round of the main singles draw at the ITA All-American Championships, which took place on Friday, September 24, in Cary, North Carolina.

Velaga competed against Carolina Gomez Alonso from the University of Arkansas. The match went to three sets. Gomez Alonso won the first set 6-4. Velaga came back to take the second set 6-3. In the third and final set, Gomez Alonso secured a 6-4 win.
