The University of Pennsylvania squash program announced on May 1 the hiring of Graeme Williams as assistant coach for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Williams joins Penn after spending last season with the Princeton women’s squash team as an assistant coach. During his time at Princeton, he contributed to the Tigers winning an Ivy League tournament title and achieving the No. 1 ranking in the College Squash Association team rankings.
Williams also served as head professional at the Philadelphia Cricket Club and brings decades of coaching and playing experience. His coaching career includes work with national federations from the United States, Canada, and England at events such as multiple Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games, and World Team Championships.
“Gilly and I are thrilled to announce the addition of Graeme Williams to our staff. He brings a wealth of experience at the junior and senior level. He developed top juniors at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, led the Canadian National Team and coached world #4 Olivia Weaver. Graeme is a student of the game, loves the grind and is fun to be around. Our student athletes will get better under his tutelage,” said Head Coach of Penn women’s squash Jack Wyant.
“I am honoured and proud to join the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious squash program as an Assistant Coach. I have witnessed the hunger and desire for improvement since arriving in Philadelphia in 2019. I am excited to work alongside Jack and Gilly as well as support the exceptionally talented men and women for the upcoming season. I can’t wait to meet the players and get to work on helping prepare them for the 2026-27 season,” said Williams.
