The University of Pennsylvania’s baseball team has been honored with the Team Academic Excellence Award by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) for the 2024-25 school year. The award, presented by Sports Attack, recognizes high school and college baseball programs nationwide that have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The ABCA announced that nearly 750-member programs received this recognition for their academic achievements during the past academic year, including over 440 college programs and 300 high school programs.

To be eligible for the award, teams had to meet specific criteria: they must be either a high school or college team, the head coach must be an ABCA member, and the team must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for the academic year.

The Penn baseball team concluded its 2025 season with an overall record of 21-20 and participated in the Ivy League Tournament for the third consecutive year, although they were defeated twice by Columbia and host Yale.
