Philadelphia Union II will conclude their 2025 regular season road games with a match against Toronto FC II on Friday night. The game will be available for viewing on MLSNEXTPro.com.
Union II is currently experiencing strong form, having won three consecutive matches. With six points left to play for in the season, they are three points behind the first-place team. Their most recent performance was a 5-2 victory over Chicago Fire II, marking their fifth recognition as MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Matchweek. In that match, Stas Korzeniowski scored two goals—his first professional brace—while Sal Olivas, Cavan Sullivan, and Malik Jakupovic also contributed goals. Goalkeeper George Marks recorded 10 saves and maintained a shutout until the 89th minute when a rebound from a saved penalty ended his clean sheet attempt.
Union II aims to secure three points in Toronto to apply pressure on New York Red Bulls II at the top of the standings. Any result from this match would guarantee Union II a first-round playoff game at Subaru Park.
This will be the third meeting between Philadelphia and Toronto this season. Union II previously won 5-0 in July, but their last encounter resulted in an 8-7 penalty shootout win for Toronto after a 2-2 draw during regulation time.
Toronto FC II currently holds seventh place and is among several teams competing for a Top 8 position to qualify for the MLS NEXT Pro postseason. They have accumulated 38 points through ten regulation wins—a key factor since it serves as the primary tiebreaker in playoff qualification. Toronto approaches its final home game following a penalty shootout win over Columbus Crew 2 last week.
