Philadelphia Union II is set to face New York City FC II in a crucial match on Saturday afternoon. The game, which kicks off at 4 PM, will be available for viewing on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.

Union II approaches the contest after a significant 4-0 victory against Crown Legacy FC, earning them their fourth MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Matchweek honor this year. Eddy Davis III scored early in the second minute with assistance from Isaiah LeFlore. Crown Legacy experienced another own goal before halftime, and following a red card for one of their players, Union II capitalized further with goals from Nick Pariano and Malik Jakupovic.

Jakupovic recently participated in the 2025 MLS NEXT All-Star Game alongside Academy amateur Johnson. Jakupovic started for the Eastern Conference’s XI and played the first half, while Johnson contributed by drawing a penalty kick that led to a decisive goal.

Saturday’s game marks another double-header day for Union II and the first team. Head Coach Ryan Richter has maintained roster flexibility with seven different players scoring at least three goals this season.

In April, Union II defeated NYCFC II at Belson Stadium with a score of 4-1. Sal Olivas opened the scoring assisted by Cavan Sullivan. After NYCFC II had a player sent off late in the first half, Union II added three more goals through Stas Korzeniowski and Nick Pariano, while Giovanny Sequera scored his first professional goal shortly after NYCFC II found the net.

NYCFC II currently holds eighth place in the East with 25 points and has performed well at home with a record of 5-2-2. They are looking to recover from a recent 4-2 loss against New York Red Bulls II despite initially leading with goals from Uriel Zeitz and Eligio Guarino.
