Philadelphia Union II will travel to Ohio this Sunday to face Columbus Crew 2 in their final regular season matchup. The team is aiming for a season sweep, having won the previous two meetings against Crew 2 with scores of 3-0 at Subaru Park in May and 3-1 on the road in June.

Union II recently secured a spot in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs for the fourth consecutive year following a 2-1 victory over FC Cincinnati 2 on August 31. In that match, Neil Pierre scored his second goal of the season from a cross by Cavan Sullivan, while Eddy Davis III netted the game-winner—his fifth goal of 2025.

Several Union II players have spent time on international duty since clinching their playoff berth. Kaidan Moore, Malik Jakupovic, and Kellan LeBlanc received call-ups to represent United States Youth National Teams.

With four games remaining in the regular season, Union II is competing for the No. 2 seed in the conference. They are currently tied on points with Chicago Fire II and hold a one-point lead over New York Revolution II as they approach the weekend.

Columbus Crew 2, after reaching the postseason each of the last three years, has already been eliminated this season and sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Despite offensive struggles throughout much of the year, Crew 2 recently posted back-to-back matches with four goals but managed only one win during that stretch. In August, they were involved in a high-scoring contest—a record-setting match for most goals in MLS NEXT Pro—losing 7-4 to New York Red Bulls II before rebounding with a 4-0 win over Inter Miami CF II for their fifth victory of the season. Kevin Gbamble scored three times during these matches and is now second on Crew 2’s scoring chart behind Chase Adams’ eight goals.

The match will be broadcast live via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
