Philadelphia – University of Pennsylvania junior forward TJ Power has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week in men’s basketball for the second time this season. The previous honor was awarded to him on December 1.
Power received the recognition following his performance in Penn’s 84-74 victory over Dartmouth last Saturday. He led all players with 27 points, scoring 20 in the second half as Penn pulled away from a halftime tie. Power also collected eight rebounds and shot efficiently, making 10 of 17 attempts from the field, including three of five from beyond the arc, and converting four of six free throws.
Penn currently holds a record of 9-8 overall and is 2-2 in Ivy League play. The team will return home to face Yale, last season’s Ivy League champion, at The Palestra on Saturday. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start and will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
