Philadelphia Union announced that three of its homegrown players, Eddy Davis III, Sal Olivas, and Andrew Rick, have been selected for the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team Domestic Identity Training Camp during the September FIFA window.
These players are among eight from the Union chosen for national team duties this window. The homegrown trio will join Tai Baribo, who was called up to represent Israel, Cavan Sullivan with the U.S. U-17 team, Frankie Westfield with the U.S. U-20s, and Neil Pierre for the U.S. U-19 Identity Camp.
The training camp is part of a continued effort by the Federation to support its “U.S. Way” philosophy. This approach aims to increase programming for Youth National Teams and create more opportunities for young players to move through the ranks toward representing their country at major tournaments.
Rob Valentino will lead the U-20 Men’s National Team at this camp, which takes place from September 1 to 9 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The roster includes Andrew Rick as one of three goalkeepers (Philadelphia Union; Berwyn, Pa.), and forwards Edward Davis (Philadelphia Union; Los Angeles, Calif.) and Sal Olivas Jr. (Philadelphia Union; El Paso, Texas). Players from several other clubs across Major League Soccer and international teams were also named to participate in the camp.
