Shameek Gayen, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, offered his perspective in a Healio article discussing a recent study published in ERJ Open Research. The research identified notable differences in clinical, hemodynamic, and imaging characteristics between patients with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), both with and without pulmonary hypertension, and those with mild COPD who have a pulmonary vascular phenotype.
