Becker’s Hospital Review has reported that the Temple Heart and Vascular Institute has reached two significant milestones in treating chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). The institute recently completed its 500th pulmonary thromboendarterectomy and its 500th balloon pulmonary angioplasty.

Anjali Vaidya, MD, FACC, FASE, FACP, who directs the Advanced Pulmonary Hypertension, Right Heart Failure and CTEPH program at Temple University Hospital, discussed these achievements in a Q&A with Becker’s Hospital Review.

These procedures are part of ongoing efforts to improve outcomes for patients with CTEPH. The twin milestones reflect the experience and volume of care provided by the Temple Heart and Vascular Institute.
