Temple Health announced that it is monitoring a major winter storm expected to affect the Philadelphia area from this weekend into Monday. The health system remains open and operational, but some appointments and services may be adjusted due to the weather. Patients will be contacted directly if their scheduled visits are impacted.
Emergency departments at Temple University Hospital – Main Campus, Temple University Hospital – Jeanes Campus, Temple University Hospital – Episcopal Campus, and Chestnut Hill Hospital are expected to stay open during the storm. Labor and delivery services at Temple Women & Families and OB Triage Unit (Direct Response Unit) will also remain available without changes. Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Direct Response Unit continues to operate as well.
Hospital-based surgeries and procedures are proceeding as planned unless patients are notified of changes caused by weather conditions. Outpatient departments within hospitals are also operating as scheduled, with direct notifications for any necessary adjustments.
Physician offices associated with Temple Faculty Physicians, Temple Physicians, Inc., Chestnut Hill Clinic Company, and Fox Chase Medical Group will mostly reschedule or switch appointments to virtual visits in response to the storm. Patients will receive updates through email, text message, or phone calls if needed.
All Temple ReadyCare locations will close on Sunday, January 25, and Monday, January 26. Updates about emergency services can be found on the Temple Health website.
Temple Health advises patients not to call ahead due to high call volumes and encourages them to check www.TempleHealth.org or www.FoxChase.org for the latest information.
“Patient safety remains our top priority, and updates will be shared as conditions evolve,” according to the announcement from Temple Health.
