Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital held an appreciation event on Apr. 6 to honor Pennsylvania State Sen. Art Haywood and Pennsylvania State Rep. Tarik Khan for securing a $400,000 Commonwealth Capital Funding award through the Pennsylvania Local Share Account-Statewide program. The hospital said the funds will be used to purchase new diagnostic equipment focused on women’s health, including advanced 3D mammography technology.

The event also recognized Cindy Zimmerman, DNP, RN, who is the Clinical Nurse Manager in the Temple Health – Chestnut Hill Hospital Emergency Department. Zimmerman was honored after she assisted in saving a driver’s life on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in December.

NBC10, Fox29, and 6abc covered Rep. Khan as he presented Zimmerman with a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives during the ceremony.

Hospital officials say that these developments will enhance patient care at Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital by improving access to modern diagnostic tools and recognizing staff contributions.

The hospital’s focus on both technological advancement and community service was highlighted during this event.
