The Philadelphia Flyers are set to host their annual Hockey Fights Cancer Game, presented by Toyota, on Monday, November 25. The event will take place at the Wells Fargo Center as the Flyers face off against the Vegas Golden Knights at 7:00 p.m. This initiative is part of a league-wide effort to support cancer awareness and honor those affected by the disease.
Flyers forward Ryan Poehling expressed his enthusiasm for participating in these initiatives. “Being part of our team’s recent cancer initiatives has been super enjoyable not just for me but for everyone involved,” he said. He highlighted the importance of the game as a platform to support a cause greater than themselves.
In preparation for the game, players will don lavender jerseys symbolizing the Hockey Fights Cancer theme. These jerseys will later be auctioned online at FlyersCharities.com starting Monday, November 25 at noon until Friday, November 29 at 8:00 p.m.
Fans attending the game will receive an "I Fight For" rally towel courtesy of Toyota. The arena's décor will include lavender ice-level dasher boards and LED displays, with "I Fight For" cards lining player tunnel walls filled out by team members and staff. Coaches and executives will wear pins supporting the cause, while fans can purchase themed apparel within the arena.
Special guests impacted by cancer will be honored during pre-game ceremonies and throughout the event. Among them is Eli Kwait, who was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma as a toddler but is now cancer-free. Eli will read out the starting line-up in the locker room before kickoff.
Penny Courtney will participate in a ceremonial puck drop. She is described as a lifelong Flyers fan battling cancer with unwavering spirit.
The Flyers have also partnered with October Saves Youth Goalies for fundraising efforts supporting cancer research. Six top youth goalies were invited to attend Monday’s game following their significant contributions.
Additionally, twelve women affected by cancer were treated to a spa day hosted by Flyers Charities earlier this month, where they received various treatments alongside surprise visits from Flyers players Noah Cates, Ryan Poehling, Morgan Frost, and anthem singer Lauren Hart.
Through collaboration with Toyota and other partners like V Foundation and Lindi Skin—founded by Lindy Snider—the event underscores continued support for families impacted by cancer.
Local cancer organizations have been provided tickets through the club’s Community Ticket Grant program in partnership with Toyota.
