The Philadelphia Phillies have seen two of their standout players, Zack Wheeler and Bryce Harper, earn All-MLB honors. The announcement was made during the second annual All-MLB Weekend presented by MGM Rewards in Las Vegas.

Wheeler secured a spot on the First Team as a starting pitcher, while Harper was named to the Second Team at first base. Both players had previously been recognized in 2021, with Harper making the First Team and Wheeler the Second Team.

All-MLB honors are awarded to top performers at each position across Major League Baseball, with fans participating in the voting process for both First and Second Teams.

Zack Wheeler concluded his season with a record of 16 wins and 7 losses over 200 innings pitched. He maintained an ERA of 2.57, recorded 224 strikeouts, and achieved a bWAR of 6.1. Among National League starters, he led in several categories including WHIP (0.96) and opponents’ batting average (.192). His performance placed him second in ERA and tied for strikeouts behind Chris Sale, who won the NL pitching Triple Crown.

In September, Bryce Harper expressed high praise for Wheeler: “He’s a Cy Young,” said Harper. “I don’t think anybody in baseball is better than him at this point.”

Harper himself delivered strong numbers with a .285 batting average, hitting 30 home runs and achieving an OPS of .898. He also stood out defensively as a Gold Glove finalist at first base.

Wheeler is currently a finalist for the NL Cy Young Award alongside Chris Sale and Paul Skenes from Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, Harper may receive consideration for NL MVP votes; however, Shohei Ohtani from the Dodgers is favored to win.
