The Philadelphia Flyers faced a narrow defeat against the Montreal Canadiens, ending the game with a 4-3 loss at Wells Fargo Center. The match remained tied at 1-1 after the first period before the Canadiens took control in the second, scoring three goals. Despite a late rally by the Flyers in the third period, they could not bridge the gap.

Nick Suzuki opened scoring for Montreal with his third goal of the season at 10:42 in the first period. Kirby Dach set up Suzuki following a rebound from Jayden Struble. The Flyers responded with an equalizer from Travis Sanheim at 17:24, assisted by Ryan Poehling and Garnet Hathaway.

Montreal regained their lead early in the second period when Brendan Gallagher deflected a point shot into the net at 4:48, with assists credited to Logan Mailloux and Josh Anderson. Cole Caufield extended Montreal's advantage to 3-1 during a power play at 12:48, receiving support from Suzuki and Matheson.

David Savard set up Jake Evans for Montreal’s fourth goal at 16:01. In response, Sanheim scored again for Philadelphia late in the final period with assistance from Joel Farabee and Nicolas Deslauriers. Travis Konecny narrowed Montreal's lead further to one goal at 18:17 thanks to Owen Tippett’s backhand pass.

Aleksei Kolosov made his NHL debut as goaltender for Philadelphia, stopping 20 out of 24 shots. Cayden Primeau secured victory for Montreal by saving 23 out of Philly’s 26 shots on target.

Philadelphia struggled on special teams, failing to score on all three power-play opportunities while allowing one power-play goal against them during two penalty kills.
