Philadelphia Union II is set to host an important Eastern Conference showdown against Chicago Fire II at Subaru Park on Saturday night. The match will be available on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV, starting at 4 PM ET.

Union II has experienced a challenging stretch of matches, resulting in three consecutive losses. In their most recent game, the team was hindered by unfortunate finishing, with two attempts denied by the goalpost, leading to a 1-0 home loss to FC Cincinnati 2. Despite this run of form, Union II remains in the No. 2 spot in the table, though only seven points separate them from the playoff line.

Saturday's match marks the second meeting between these teams this season. The previous encounter on March 28th saw Chicago Fire II secure a penalty kick shootout victory.

In their latest match on Thursday night, Philadelphia Union II finished regular time tied 1-1 against Chicago Fire II, which led to a penalty shootout. Chicago emerged victorious by scoring four goals to Philadelphia’s three, earning Head Coach Marlon LeBlanc’s squad one point.

Chicago Fire II currently sits three points behind Philadelphia with an 8-6-6 record and boasts a league-best five shootout wins. Most of their points have been earned at home, as they hold a 2-4-3 record on the road. Recently, they played back-to-back high-scoring matches: first achieving a 5-0 shutout against FC Cincinnati 2 before losing 4-3 to New York Red Bulls II.
