Bucks County Family Service Center Receives $2,000 Grant From Bucks County COVID-19 Recovery Fund To Help Provide Continued Support to Families amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

The Bucks County Family Service Center (BCFSC), a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), is pleased to announce that it has received a $2,000 grant from the Bucks County COVID-19 Recovery Fund. The fund was established by United Way of Bucks County with additional funding from Penn Community Bank.

The awarded funds will enable BCFSC to stock the shelves of its Diaper Pantry and purchase essential infant items including diapers, wipes, and baby wash. The Diaper Pantry ensures expectant mothers and families in the local community with children under the age of one have access to the resources needed to best care for their families. This effort is especially critical during these challenging times.

Ms. Teri Mitchell, Administrator at BCFSC said, “We are extremely grateful for the support given by the United Way of Bucks County! This grant will have a direct impact on the families that we serve in our community in assisting with the health and well-being of babies and infants.”

The BCFSC is the first point of contact for individuals, families, and parishes when they seek assistance from CSS in Bucks County.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Family Service Centers, part of the Community-Based Services Division of CSS, have continued to provide support services and emergency assistance to those in need including food, clothing, diapers, baby items, and social services. Six such centers are located throughout the five-county metropolitan area comprising the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
