Graduates earn 421 degrees, certificates from The University of the Arts

About 86 percent of the 421 degrees and certificates handed out by The University of the Arts in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Philadelphia conferred 320 bachelor's degrees and 42 master's degrees in visual and performing arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general dance. Data shows the school gave out 48 bachelor's degrees in general dance, followed by 39 bachelor's degrees in music management and 37 bachelor's degrees in "other" film/video and photographic arts.

The university enrolled 1,914 students for 2017-18, including 1,734 in undergraduate programs and 180 in graduate programs.
