59 percent of applicants to Temple University were admitted for fall 2018

At Temple University, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Philadelphia enrolled 39,740 students in fall 2018, including 29,484 in undergraduate and 10,256 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

71 percent of undergraduates are residents of Pennsylvania, and 26 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (55 percent) and Black or African American (13 percent).

The school admitted 59 percent of the 35,501 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 24 percent enrolled.
