The College Squash Association announced on Apr. 17 that seven University of Pennsylvania squash athletes have been named to its All-American teams for the 2025-26 season. Five Quakers earned first team honors, while two were selected for the second team.
This recognition marks a significant achievement for Penn’s women’s squad, which won the Howe Cup national championship and had four players honored—its highest number since the 2013-14 season. On the men’s side, Omar Hafez and Salman Khalil received first team All-American status for the third consecutive year.
Hafez completed his senior season as Penn’s all-time wins leader with 71 victories, also earning Ivy League Player of the Year and winning the Pool Trophy. He was joined by teammates Khalil and Marwan Abdelsalam on the men’s first team. Khalil finished his junior year with a record of 17-2 overall and went undefeated in Ivy League play, reaching a career total of 46 wins at Penn. Abdelsalam recorded a 14-5 overall mark in his sophomore campaign and was named to the All-Tournament team during Penn’s run to an Ivy League tournament title.
For the women’s program, Malak Khafagy and Franka Vidovic were named first team All-Americans; Sohaila Ismail and Malak Taha earned second team selections. Khafagy was also recognized as Ivy League Player of the Year after an undefeated conference season leading Penn to its national championship, while Vidovic achieved her first career selection to the first team following a strong performance in both regular season play and at CSA Individual Championships.
Ismail led her squad with sixteen wins this year without losing any matches in team competition, securing second-team All-Ivy honors alongside Taha, who contributed fifteen wins—including three crucial victories during Penn’s championship run.
