Senator Joe Picozzi, representing Pennsylvania’s 5th district, recently shared updates on community programs and events through his social media account.
On December 8, 2025, Senator Picozzi announced the opening of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for the 2025–26 season. He stated: “LIHEAP is now open for the 2025–26 season. Eligible households can get help with heating bills and crisis grants. Apply at https://t.co/GXTqgLKJgW, call 1-866-550-4355, or contact my office for assistance. Open through April 10, 2026.” LIHEAP is a federally funded program that helps low-income families pay their heating bills during winter months and provides emergency assistance in crisis situations.
The following day, on December 9, Senator Picozzi highlighted his participation in a local holiday event by posting: “Holiday spirit was in full force at SPIN’s holiday parade! Loved joining Santa and the 8th district for a fun and festive morning” Community parades such as this are common across Pennsylvania during the holiday season and often involve local officials to foster community engagement.
Later on December 9, Senator Picozzi reported on an initiative aimed at returning unclaimed property to residents. He wrote: “Our Unclaimed Property Event was a huge success! We helped return thousands of dollars to residents right here in the 5th District. Grateful to everyone who stopped by and to the PA State Treasurer Stacy Garrity’s office for partnering with us. “ The Pennsylvania Treasury regularly partners with local officials to help reunite citizens with unclaimed financial assets.
Senator Picozzi’s posts reflect ongoing efforts by state legislators to inform constituents about available public resources and promote civic participation within their districts.
