During a Feb. 12 inspection for Foodborne Biological Hazards, Samuels & Son Seafood Company, Inc. in Philadelphia was issued a citation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), based on data posted on the FDA’s website.
FDA records note the company was cited for this specific issue: ‘You do not have or have not implemented product specifications and an affirmative step for ensuring that fish you import are processed in compliance with the Seafood HACCP regulation.’
The FDA conducts routine inspections of facilities nationwide to check that their workplaces and products conform to laws and regulations intended to protect public health. Inspection outcomes are later made available to the public.
