Two University of Pennsylvania football players have been named to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-America list ahead of the 2025 season. Senior wide receiver Jared Richardson and senior offensive lineman Netinho Olivieri were both selected for the third team.
Olivieri’s selection marks his third preseason All-America honor this year, following previous recognition by Stats Perform and FCS Football Central. Richardson was also named a third-team Preseason All-America by FCS Football Central last week.
Richardson received second-team All-Ivy honors in 2024 after leading Penn with 46 receptions, totaling 684 yards and seven touchdowns while starting all ten games. He had a standout performance against Cornell on November 9, recording nine catches for 141 yards and three touchdowns. This achievement made him the first player in program history to record two career games with three touchdown receptions. In 2023, Richardson earned first-team All-Ivy honors.
Entering his final year at Penn, Richardson has accumulated 113 catches for 1,472 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is within reach of becoming only the sixth player in school history to surpass 2,000 receiving yards and currently ranks sixth all-time in touchdown receptions at Penn.
Olivieri started all ten games at left tackle during his junior season in 2024. His efforts contributed to an offensive line that allowed just 15 sacks over the season, which ranked ninth fewest among NCAA FCS teams. Olivieri was recognized with first-team All-Ivy honors for his play on the field. Over his college career, he has appeared in 22 games and started in 18 over the past two seasons.
Penn will begin its 2025 football season on Saturday, September 20 against Stonehill College.
