Quinyon Mitchell has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Philadelphia Eagles cornerback allowed only two catches on nine targets for a total of six yards, according to Pro Football Focus. He also recorded five passes defended, marking a career high.

Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio commented on Mitchell’s play, stating, “I thought he played very well the other day. I told him I think it was his best game since he’s been here. He played well.”

Mitchell finished second in last season’s AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting and has developed a reputation as a reliable cornerback for the Eagles. This is his first time receiving a weekly award from the NFL.

Earlier this season, Jordan Davis became the first Eagle to earn an NFC weekly honor when he was recognized as Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a field goal that led to a touchdown in Week 3.
