Quinyon Mitchell, a rookie cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been ranked No. 49 in the NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2025. The announcement was made by the league on Monday. Mitchell joins teammates Jordan Mailata, who is ranked No. 69, and Cooper DeJean at No. 60 on the list so far.
Mitchell was selected with the 22nd overall pick and quickly established himself as a key player in his first season. He started 16 regular-season games and recorded 12 passes defended. Among all NFL players, he finished third in forced incompletions with 15 and also ranked third among cornerbacks in yards allowed per coverage snap at 0.8.
His performance peaked during the postseason, where he registered four passes defended and two interceptions that were crucial in securing playoff victories for the Eagles.
Christian Parker, Passing Game Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach for the Eagles, expressed confidence in Mitchell’s potential when asked if he could become one of the greats: “Yes.”
Parker elaborated further: “I’ve been around a lot of really good ones and I think that it starts with just how they’re built,” Parker explained. “And he’s built the right way. He has a natural confidence in himself. He doesn’t get rattled. He’s always trying to work. There’s very little idle time during practice. When the special teams (is on the field), we’re working. When the offense is on the field during the scout team period, we’re working. We’re working pre-practice. We’re working post-practice. He’s in the building early, he stays late. He’s always about ball.
“He’s always trying to find guys that he wants to watch around the league to see what elements in his game he can add. He just has a huge appetite for development and improving himself and he’s very accountable to himself, so he knows that the load that we need him to carry from here on and what we put on him last year, and he has the mental stability.”
Mitchell’s immediate impact as a rookie was recognized by both his peers and coaches.
