More than 31,000 fans are expected to attend the Philadelphia Phillies’ Red October On-Deck Intrasquad Game at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night. The team announced that tickets for the event, presented by Citizens, have sold out.
The Phillies initially planned to limit attendance to 20,000 when tickets went on sale last Saturday. However, due to strong demand from fans, the club expanded ticket availability.
“Our fans continue to show why they are simply the best,” said Phillies Senior Vice President of Ticket Operations John Weber. “More than 31,000 will be in the stands for our first-ever postseason intrasquad game, bringing their same energy and passion that have continuously created an electric atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park. We’re excited to host this special event as we gear up for Game 1 of the National League Division Series.”
The seven-inning contest will include pregame player introductions, appearances by team mascot Phillie Phanatic, and opportunities for fans to interact with alumni. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Phillies Charities, Inc.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with parking available for free in designated lots starting at 4:00 p.m. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
