Philadelphia Phillies prospect Justin Crawford made an impact for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday night, hitting a leadoff home run in the team’s game. Crawford, who is currently ranked as the Phillies’ No. 3 prospect and holds the No. 43 spot on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list, also contributed two walks, a single, and his 36th stolen base of the season.

Crawford was selected by Philadelphia in the first round of the 2022 draft. He has shown improvement at the plate this August with a .385/.484/.538 slash line over nine games. Across all Minor League players with at least 400 plate appearances, he ranks fourth with a .330 batting average and has been effective against left-handed pitchers, batting .380 against them so far this year.

The performance comes as part of a notable week for prospects across several organizations. Jett Williams of Double-A Binghamton recorded three hits and three runs while collecting his 30th stolen base of the season for the New York Mets organization. Trey Yesavage, pitching in relief for New Hampshire (Toronto Blue Jays), struck out nine batters over five innings without issuing a walk.

In Worcester, Boston Red Sox prospect Jhostynxon Garcia hit his 19th home run of the season and now leads all current Red Sox Minor Leaguers in home runs (19), RBIs (66), and wRC+ (136). Meanwhile, Josuar De Jesus Gonzalez continued to perform well in the Dominican Summer League for San Francisco Giants Black with his first career grand slam and strong on-base numbers.

Daniel Eagen pitched six no-hit innings for Hillsboro (Arizona Diamondbacks) for the second time this season. The right-hander currently leads his league in opponents’ batting average (.190) and strikeouts per nine innings (12.0).

These performances reflect ongoing development among some of baseball’s top minor league prospects as they move closer to potential major league debuts.
