Aidan Miller, the No. 2 prospect for the Philadelphia Phillies and ranked 17th overall by MLB, delivered a strong performance for Double-A Reading on Saturday. Miller contributed to the Fightin Phils’ decisive 16-1 win over the Fisher Cats by going 2-for-4 at the plate with two walks and scoring four runs. He also stole two bases, increasing his season total to a league-leading 44 in the Eastern League. Defensively, Miller made a notable play in the ninth inning, ranging to his left and making an accurate throw while on the run.
Other top prospects across Minor League Baseball also had standout performances. Thomas White of Pensacola earned his first Double-A win with nine strikeouts over six innings and now holds a 2.05 ERA in seven starts at that level. Konnor Griffin of Greensboro continued his strong season with three hits, two walks, and two stolen bases as part of a series where he has collected nine hits and three home runs in five games.
Walker Jenkins of Wichita posted another multihit game, going 3-for-4 with two doubles. Carter Jensen from Omaha nearly hit for the cycle, recording a triple, double, and home run in one game.
Jurrangelo Cijntje made his Double-A debut for Arkansas as a switch-pitcher, allowing three runs over five innings with four strikeouts. Owen Murphy of Rome pitched five no-hit innings as he continues his return from Tommy John surgery.
Miller’s performance helped Reading secure their victory and extended his lead atop the Eastern League stolen base rankings.
