The first Major League Baseball Power Rankings of 2026 have been released, offering an early look at how teams are positioned as the new season approaches. The rankings, compiled by MLB.com contributors, reflect current rosters and offseason moves, with more changes expected before Opening Day.
The Los Angeles Dodgers top the list, maintaining their number one spot from the previous poll. The Toronto Blue Jays follow in second place after making significant additions to their roster. The Seattle Mariners round out the top three and are seen as favorites in the American League West.
The Philadelphia Phillies are ranked fourth, up from seventh in the last poll. The ranking comes as questions remain about whether J.T. Realmuto will return and if further roster additions are planned. “The Phillies will once again try to win it all in 2026, before this team gets too old. It should be noted that they are not in fact that old yet. And a Bryce Harper bounceback in his age-33 season sure would be nice.”
The Phillies represent a professional baseball team in Major League Baseball’s National League and have played home games at Citizens Bank Park since 2004. They serve both local fans and a broader regional audience through games, events, and community outreach efforts (official website). The club has won World Series titles in 1980 and 2008 and is overseen by a front office based at Citizens Bank Park.
Other teams rounding out the top ten include the Boston Red Sox (fifth), Milwaukee Brewers (sixth), New York Yankees (seventh), New York Mets (eighth), Baltimore Orioles (ninth), and Chicago Cubs (tenth).
The rankings note that many teams could still make key acquisitions before the start of the season. Voters for these rankings include Jason Catania, Mark Feinsand, Daniel Feldman, Doug Gausepohl, Will Leitch, Travis Miller, Brian Murphy, Arturo Pardavila, Andrew Simon, and Zac Vierra.
